Vision and Statement

"What if we create an international collaborative research organization and platform, supported by the Korean government and led by universities, to ensure the security of open-source software? I think we could call it CSSA."
The late John Milburn (former Vice President of DACOM/LG Uplus, an expert who pioneered the growth of the internet security and IDC industry in Korea)

About IoTcube

The automated vulnerability analysis platform IoTcube (https://iotcube.net) was established with the vision of creating an open platform that would cooperate with promising scholars and entrepreneurs interested in computer security, reflecting the nonprofit nature of a university research institution. The goal is to ensure that research outcomes derived from international collaborative research and excellent academic papers would not remain confined to academia but instead have practical contributions to the world.

Achievements of IoTcube

  • As of May 2024, the IoTcube platform has achieved significant milestones:
    • Total Users: 26,000
    • Verified CVE Vulnerabilities Discovered: 34,000
    • Detected Vulnerable Codes: 1,100,000
    • Global Reach: Users from 141 countries can automatically analyze security vulnerabilities through a simple drag-and-drop interface.

Impact on Education and Research

The IoTcube platform has enabled student researchers to translate their research findings into practical applications. This experience has nurtured their talents and led many to become faculty members at prestigious universities.

Future Directions

As of 2024, IoTcube is embarking on new challenges to expand its capabilities, particularly focusing on the emerging issues of SBOM (Software Bill Of Materials) and VEX (Vulnerability Exploitability eXchange), which are being spearheaded primarily in the United States and Europe.
